Waka Orphanage Rules
- Students must work hard on their study, be respectful to teachers and obey school rules. They should finish their assignments according to the teacher’s instruction.
- Students must obey the instructions of the school workers, and also fulfill their daily duties after school, like washing their own clothes, keeping the dormitory clean, making their beds and helping the school workers to cook.
- Students should have good behavior. They should not tell lies, cheat, fight or quarrel with other students, steal nor speak filthy words.
- Students should be diligent in everything they do.
- Students must attend Tibetan tutorial classes on time every Saturday and Sunday. If they are unable to attend class, they should seek the approval from school staff in advance.
- Students’ parents or relatives may only visit students on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and should notify the school prior to their arrival.
- If students receive any amount of money from their parents or relatives, they must hand over the money to school workers. School workers will then return money to students in small amounts over time.
- Students should go to bed before the power is turned off at 10pm and get up at 6:30am on school days.
- Students are allowed to go out with their parents or relatives during their visits on Saturday and Sunday, but they must return to the school by 5pm.
- Students should be aware of their own safety outside the classroom. They should reframe from dangerous activities.
- Students should take care of their processions, including clothing, bedding, school bag, and things in the kitchen.
- Students should be polite and respectful to any visitors or sponsors of the school.
If any students break rules and fail to show improvement on their behavior after warning, the school may terminate their sponsorship and send them home.
