How to contribute to Waka Orphanage:
Thank you for your kind interest in supporting our orphanage. There are several ways in which you can help:
The orphanage school has come to life thanks to Dorjee’s dedication and commitment as well as support and generousity of the school’s sponsors – private individuals. Yet there is no assurance that, going forward, our children will be able to meet their minimum compulsory education requirements, and to enter vocational training and start earning their living. Therefore, we are are in constant search for sponsors and further funding.
Cash donations of any size can be sent to a bank account in Hong Kong (for transfers outside China) or to a bank account in mainland China (best for transfers within PRC). There is also possibility to contribute online via a well established charity site. For details, please contact us at inquiries@wakaorphanage.org
We now offer INDIVIDUAL CHILD SPONSORSHIP where a sponsor commits to supporing a child to see him or her though all of their schooling until the child finishes the minimum compulsory education and is able to start vocational training, or earn a living. The cost is USD 300 per annum to support one child, including accommodation, food, textbooks and sundries.
In return, the sponsor will receive twice-yearly reports on the child’s progress, as well as a greeting card from the child at the time of Losar (Tibetan New Year). The sponsor can also send gifts to his sponsored child, and can visit the child at any time.

We welcome any donations of new or second hand clothing and shoes, as well as textbooks or other school supplies. The address for posting depends on the country where you are sending from. Please contact us at inquiries@wakaorphanage.org for details.
We welcome all volunteers, especially English teachers. Food and accommodation will be provided for free, as well as unlimited love and admiration from our children. You will need to speak some Mandarin or Tibetan in order to communicate with children.
